I started to work with a new client, I’m really excited about it. The last backpack project I worked on didn’t go anywhere… my clients didn’t respond to me after a while.. not so good. 😀
But! I fully designed the backpack and I bought all materials and started to make it. I think I’m going to change the design concept and use the materials I bought to make it and just use it myself.
And, I got hired for a different project by a different client, and I really like it, mostly because the client already has a brand and I think the aesthetic, message and style of the brand is really unique and cool. Also, the products seem functional.
So my job is to design a new version of their original backpack with additional features.
So excited to see how will it turn out!
I wanted to write about my last few months. From around January I started to discover that I was sexually abused and raped as a child at the age of 3 and 4.
It is so important to talk about these topics openly, it is a very complex issue that effects a huge percentage of population.
I think I will write about this topic from time to time because raising awareness and speaking from a personal perspective I think could be a good step towards the fight against sexual violence.
I finished designing a wireless earbud and it got printed in 3D 🙂 I’m excited about the testing and further steps.
Also, I have three great projects I’m working on, a backpack designed for parents hiking with little kids, a shoe design project and a kettle design project. Can’t wait to see where these ideas will go.
So I got totally unhired from my main project. But now I can look for new ones, like designing a case similar to this. How cute is that?
Fun moments/difficulities of working while traveling. Sketches got wet because of spilled Niksicko. No worries, they got hanged to dry.
I made a set of necklace and a ring, I like the natural feel of it. Also I like how I can wear it in a way that one stone hangs in the front and one in the back or I can wear it with both stones in the front.
I made a simple tube top with a sewing machine, which is new for me because usually I’m hand sewing.
I bought my first own sewing machine, yay, it almost feels like a new family member to me. 😀
And I’m starting to get better at singing and playing the ukulele, I’ve played to my little sister, and we played ukulele and sang together with my friends, and I just did a very exclusive live show on my balcony. My audience consisted of a guy drinking beer in the next building and a woman hanging clothes.
In two weeks I’m going to be in Podgorica, Montenegro, yay! I’m going to be couchsurfing, my host is a musician, I hope I can learn something while I’m there.
I don’t know what I will do there exactly, but I guess the same as here, freelance, enjoy my days, meet people, walk around in the city, enjoy the nightlife, food and I’m interested in visiting the National Parks of Montenegro. Hope I don’t get lost or get in some kind of trouble. First trip as a freelancer!
While I was thinking about this trip and about traveling in general I came across videos about Chiang Mai and how it is the freelancer/digital nomad heaven. Since then I kind of want to move there. So my plan is, first go for half a year, see how I like it and if I really feel that I belong there, move there.
I think it’s a good place for me, I can imagine staying there and maybe start a digital nomad family.
And I found out that Budapest is one the best places for freelancing according to Nomad List, which is pretty accurate. 😀 It’s at 3rd place right now. Wow, and I just live here already, how cool is that?
